The River Arts District in Asheville, NC, has long been a vibrant hub of creativity, culture, and community. But after the devastating impact of recent hurricanes, the district faces unprecedented challenges. As urban planning and architecture students at Kennesaw State University, we’re determined to contribute to Asheville’s recovery with a vision rooted in resilience, sustainability, and respect for its unique character.
This spring, our course will focus on designing an updated master plan for the River Arts District. Our mission: to create innovative solutions that address flood mitigation, sustainable infrastructure, and community needs, all while preserving the district’s artistic spirit.
To make this vision a reality, we need your support. Your contributions will enable 17 dedicated students to travel to Asheville, connect with the community, and study the area firsthand. By engaging directly with residents, local artists, and business owners, we’ll ensure our designs reflect the district’s needs and aspirations.
Your support goes beyond education—it helps a community rebuild stronger than ever. Join us in shaping a sustainable future for Asheville’s River Arts District. Together, we can inspire change and build hope.
